A Warranty You Can Actually Hold
Written workmanship coverage on every build — plus the manufacturer warranties that come with the materials we install, passed straight through to you.
In writing, from day one
Warranty is one of the easiest places for a contractor to promise the world and then disappear when it’s time to actually back it up. We don’t. Every Waterstone project includes a written workmanship warranty — the terms are spelled out in your contract, and a signed copy of the warranty goes in your records at handover.
On top of that, the major materials we install carry manufacturer warranties of their own — roofing systems, composite decking, Temo sunrooms, fiber-cement siding — and those pass through to you in your name. If something ever goes sideways, you have two layers of coverage to lean on, and one phone number that’ll help you navigate either.
Questions about coverage on a specific project? Call (205) 754-9977 — we’ll walk through the exact warranty terms that apply.
What backs a Waterstone project
Four layers of protection — all in writing, all in your name.
Workmanship warranty
Every Waterstone project comes with a written workmanship warranty covering how the project was built — framing, fastening, flashing, and finish details. If something fails because of how we installed it, we’ll come back and make it right.
Structural warranty
For structural outdoor work — for example decks, sunrooms, and patio covers — coverage on the underlying structure often runs longer than finish-only work. We walk through the term that applies to your project when we write your quote.
Manufacturer warranties
The materials we install carry manufacturer warranties in their own right — roofing systems, composite decking, Temo sunrooms, siding products. Those pass through to you on top of our workmanship coverage.
Permits + inspections
When a permit is required by local code we pull it, schedule the inspections, and keep the paper trail. A permitted build is one of the things that protects your homeowners insurance coverage if something happens later.
What our workmanship warranty covers
Plain-English version below. Your contract has the full legal terms and we’re happy to walk through any section of it with you.
Covered
- Faulty installation of the structure or system we installed
- Framing, fastening, flashing, and waterproofing details
- Finish work: trim, railing, fascia, and related detailing
- Workmanship failures that show up under normal use and maintenance
Not covered
- Acts of nature beyond normal weather — tornadoes, lightning, hail, flooding, fallen trees (covered by homeowners insurance, not workmanship)
- Normal wear, fading, and weathering of exposed materials
- Modifications, additions, or repairs made by others after we leave
- Damage caused by improper cleaning, power-washing, or pressure treatment
- Cosmetic issues not identified at the final walkthrough
If something comes up, here’s what happens
No ticket portals, no runaround — just a phone call to the same team that built your project.
- Step 01
Call us
Give us a ring at (205) 754-9977 or reach out through the contact form. Describe what you’re seeing and when you first noticed it.
- Step 02
We take a look
We’ll schedule a visit to assess the issue. If it’s covered under your workmanship warranty, we’ll tell you right away — and if it’s a manufacturer warranty claim, we’ll help you file it.
- Step 03
We make it right
Covered work gets fixed, at no cost to you. You’ll get the same crew, same standards, and the same final walkthrough.
The questions we hear most
- What warranty do you offer?
- Every Waterstone project comes with a written workmanship warranty. For structural outdoor work (for example decks, sunrooms, and patio covers), we walk you through what applies in your quote. Manufacturer warranties (roofing systems, composite decking, TEMO sunrooms where applicable, siding products) pass through to you alongside our workmanship coverage.
- Are you licensed and insured?
- Yes. Waterstone Homes (AL #25174) and Waterstone Professional Services (AL #29446) as applicable to your project, plus full general liability and workers’ compensation insurance on every job. We’ll provide proof of insurance before work starts.
- Is a building permit required for my project?
- When a permit is required by local code, Waterstone will pull it for you. You want this for three reasons: (1) it’s the law, (2) it’s one of the ways your build is protected, and (3) some homeowners insurance policies won’t cover an injury on a structure that wasn’t permitted.
